The Lecture Award
An annual grant is made to each institution sponsoring a Tanner Lecture. These funds are distributed to the lecturer on the occasion of the lectures and seminars and upon receipt, by the Director, of the lecture manuscript for publication in the annual volume of Tanner Lectures. Additional funds are distributed to the host institution to cover expenses related to the lectures and seminars, the subsistence and entertainment of the lecturer, and to fund the expenses of the invited guests living at a distance who attend the lectures and participate in the seminars.
Travel expenses for the lecturer and his or her partner are paid by the Trustees as a supplement to the basic grant.
The institutional grant is made thirty days in advance of the lecture date. Lecture manuscripts are due one month following the lectures and not later than June 15 of the academic year in which the lectures are presented. The manuscripts must be free from copyright or other encumbrances. The lecture manuscript will be published in the annual volume subsidized by the Trustees.
